You know, I pray to God always; to help me serve Him better. But it takes more than prayer. It is more of being intentional, being obedient and just trusting God. Today, the Holy spirit opened my eyes to see and understand some things, and I’m literally writing this with tears in my eyes.
As vessels of God, we are to see far beyond this world. Only then, can we understand the things God wants to do with us and for us, and walk in that direction. So that even if we die tomorrow, we can be happy that we actually lived.
Serving God means letting go of yourself — your choices, your plans, your will. And letting His will be done through you. So that, even when we don’t seem to understand what is going on in our lives, we’d be able to discern God’s presence, and surrender ourselves totally for His name to be glorified. Since this is the primary reason we were created.
When God gave me an instruction for this year, I was confused. It was just one word — HUMILITY. I wasn’t confused because I didn’t know what the word humility means, but because I couldn’t understand why I was told to humble myself. At first, I thought it was just to humble myself before men. But then I was like — I think I’ve been doing a good job humbling myself all these years.
Now I fully understand what God meant, after the Holy spirit opened my understanding. It is being humble to God Himself, and letting Him use me for His purpose this year. God told me “Humble thyself before me”.
This made me search the bible on my phone for the word humble. And so I read all the verses that came out as the result. I saw how God turned situations of men around after they humbled themselves before Him. And also the things that happened when men didn’t humble themselves before God. Grace comes with humility.
Although, It is God’s instruction for me this year. But I urge every man reading this article to please humble yourself before God, and also before men this year; and let God lift you in miraculous ways.
1 Peter 5:6 — Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
“Due time” this matters a lot. Do all that God tells you to do; even if it takes a lot from you, and see Him exalt you in His time.
James 4:10 — Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Serving God requires a humble heart.
May God help us all in Jesus name.
GOD BLESS YOU
