Have you ever felt lonely, that you feel no one understands you?
Have you ever just wanted to stay in the shadows where no one would notice you?
Have you ever felt so weak, and thought your life didn’t mean much?
Have you ever walked in a room, and it was like your weakness was thrown all over the place?
Do you ever feel your life doesn’t have a purpose?
I was someone who was like that. Circumstance and at some point…people made it seem like my life didn’t mean much. And whenever I was amongst people who put themselves perfectly out there, I felt the weakest. Basically, I was always looked down on, and even I, wasn’t helping matters. And so I battled with insecurity. I found it hard to speak out, and at some point couldn’t associate well.
I locked myself in a dark room for a long time, and was almost choking from my fears and weaknesses; not until God found me.
But at the time, I wouldn’t give in, because I thought there was nothing much to me. But no matter how hard I tried to hide because of my fears, He upgraded His search for me. So I made a choice to let Him in, and to also be in control of my life. And guess what? He said the way I was, was what He wanted all along. God told me my weakness could also be my strength. God called me into light.
Why I have I decided to share this?
Well, this is because, on my journey to finding myself; finding my purpose, and just accepting me for me, I began to notice people who were like me. In which some of them found light, while some are still consumed in their fears and are battling with insecurity.
You might feel like there’s nothing much to your story, or that you’re better off staying in the shadows. But there’s more to you. That emptiness, that brokenness, is exactly part of God’s plan.
But let me tell you a secret. Most times, the weakest make it major. So don’t you look down on yourself, or let the society get the best of you. You are wonderful, beautiful and Perfect.
But there’s something that I’ve learnt so far in life. Instead of striving for perfection, let’s just learn to love who we are, and also learn to love generally. I think wanting perfection is a serious fault; but a lot of people aren’t regarding it as such.
No matter what you’ve been through or how much you’re lacking behind in life, just know that God has something in store for you. If God could call me out into light despite how deep I was lost, He can also call you out.
God is not looking for perfect humans. He’s looking for broken pieces to raise to Glory. So let your brokenness and weakness be your strength. So instead of shutting yourself out from the world, why don’t you invite God, and share your pains with Him; He’s a good listener.
I hope you get to be the best version of yourself.
